Maine rafting on Canada Falls

Maine rafting on Canada Falls

Canada Falls, the South Branch of the Penobscot River, is truly unique Maine rafting. It’s an intense Class III-V white water section with tight technical rapids and waterfall drops. It only runs on Saturdays in July and August so space is limited, experience is a plus, book early.

This is a great rafting trip to combine with an Ultimate Penobscot River Trip for most exciting whitewater thrills in Maine. This amazing Penobscot white water rafting trip is only offered on weekends on selected Saturdays. Penobscot Adventures is one of 3 companies in Maine that rafts this section, PURE AWESOME!

Lauriane LaLiberte's review of Penobscot Adventures.
Really enjoyed the trip! My group really liked the size of the company so we didn’t have to wait for all the rafts like we have previously with other companies, it was nice and made the trip seem a lot more fun and a lot less waiting. As always the food was great and the Veggie burgers were absolutely delicious! The accomadations (camping) were great also! Really had a family feel! Overall Great Trip!

Whitewater Rafting in the Maine North Woods

Canada Falls is a Maine rafting trip unlike any other in the state. We check the trip in at 7:45am and ride straight up to the river. At the put in we have the safety talk for the day and tell each guest what to expect from this challenging white water rafting river. We do two runs down the white water rafting section of Canada Falls with a break for lunch between the runs.

Each run takes about an hour and a half. The rapids start out with some Class III to warm up and after that they turn into IV’s and V’s. The last rapid “Canada Falls” is the longest most challenging Class V rapid run with commercial guests in the state of Maine.

After the second run we return to base and watch the slide and/or rafting video presentation of the day’s trip. The gift shop is open until 6:00pm for your chance to buy souvenirs. This trip is great for groups that have experience rafting. The whitewater on this trip is great fun, but when things happen they happen fast and furious. Knowing what to expect from a rafting trip is a plus on this river.
