The Kennebec River, Dead River, and Penobscot Rivers all have thriving paddling communities, each with it's own unique feel, but there's more whitewater in Maine. Canada Falls, the Carabassett, the Seboomook, the Rapid and the Magalloway are all great rafting runs in Maine that know one knows about. Penobscot Adventures is going to expand it's rafting operation in 2009 to include some of this great rafting on Maine's less known rivers.

Why offer all of these lesser known rafting trips when the Penobscot has so much?

Because they're fun. We raft on three different branches of the Penobscot River and have a trip for everyone. The Penobscot Gorge has the best commercially rafted rapids in the state, possibly on the East Coast. Our Ultimate Penobscot trip is just the thing for trill seekers. The full Penobscot River trip makes a great day for friends and families with teens. Our half-day Lower Penobscot River trip is great for folks on a time schedule, and last but not least the Seboomook river rafting trip is the perfect family rafting adventure.

Whitewater Rafting in Maine on Canada Falls!

Canada Falls is a truly unique whitewater rafting Maine adventure. This remote stretch (it requires an extra half hour of driving from our base) of the Penobscot River that's only been run commercially for a year. It's Class III-V with tight technical rapids and waterfall drops. It only runs on Saturdays in July and August so space is limited. This is a great run to combine with a ducky trip for our flow fun overnight rafting trip package.
