Kennebec River Rafting

Whitewater Rafting in the Forks, Maine.

The Kennebec River is the most popular whitewater trip in Maine. A day trip that offers class III-IV white water, the Kennebec Gorge is one of the most beautiful in the East with steep rock walls on both sides. Waves average four to six feet high in rapids Big Mama, White Washer, and the infamous Magic Falls. After we finish the whitewater section we float, swim, and may stop to swim and jump in Black Brook Falls.

After your raft trip, enjoy a delicious mixed grille BBQ with rice, salads, rolls, lemonade and homemade dessert. This is followed by a slide and video show of your trip.
Kennebec River Turbine Tests

The Kennebec River is considered a "Big Water" run at it's normal flows of 4800-6000cfs. It has large roller coaster like waves that are caused by water being constricted by the Gorge walls. When Florida Power and Light needs to test their turbines they turn the water up to 8000cfs and we go rafting. The 8000 releases are considered by many to be the funnest white water in Maine. Trips fill quickly, book early.
