Participants must be able to swim, and must not be afraid of water. -Duckying is a solo activity, and while our trips are guided, the most dependable paddler/swimmer is always yourself. You don't need be an Olympian, but you must be able to propel yourself in water. If you are unable to swim, rafting might be a better place to start.

Participants must be in good physical condition. -Duckying is individually paced, but the sport is physical. Here is what to expect:
- Paddling, broken up by floats for 16 miles.
